Passing of #204 Louis Stuckless

It is with great sadness that the family of Louis (Lou) Ambrose Gilbert Stuckless announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Hospital on August 8, 2023, at the age of 98.

Louis was the last person to join the Newfoundland Rangers in July 1949, one of only two Rangers to join the Force after Confederation. In August 1950 Louis transferred to the RCMP, serving with that force until retiring in 1983 as the last Newfoundland Ranger serving in the RCMP.

Welcome

Welcome to an updated version of the Newfoundland Ranger Force website. A website had previously been developed and maintained by the Newfoundland Ranger Force Association with the help of Ms. Elinor Gill Ratcliffe. This project aims to build on that work by providing a centralized resource for finding all things related to the Newfoundland Ranger Force.

If you have some information to share, we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch by email to admin@newfoundlandrangerforce.org

Please take a moment to browse some of the sections found in the menu. Currently most of the website’s content can be found in the sections listed to the right; content will be continually added to fill out these and other sections.

Any feedback can be submitted using the “Submit Feedback” link found on the right of each page.
