Note | Supernumerary Rangers at target practice. One is firing what is possibly a Lee-Enfield No. 3 Mk. I rifle (Pattern 1914), while another observes with binoculars. The observer is possibly Sergeant Edward L. Martin (Regt. #10). Supernumerary Rangers were engaged for special duty, such as guarding installations in the new airport at Gander. Most of these Supernumeraries served less than one year. |
