Obituary

Passed peacefully away at the Miller Centre on Monday, January 22nd, 2001, Gilbert Jenkins, age 83. He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Emma (Noseworthy); daughter Jacqueline (Burt), St. John's and son Terry (Eleanor), Toronto; also 5 grandchildren; Nicole and Jason Burt, St. John's and Christopher, Andrea and Michael Jenkins, Toronto; sisters; Dorothy (Stanley) Butt, Woody Point, Bonne Bay, Jacqueline (Ervin) Glahn, Massachusetts; and brother Tom (Frances), Lewisporte; brothers and sisters-in-law; Freddie (Rolanda) Miller, Alex (Bernice) Noseworthy, Daisy (Albert) Burgess, Ray (Una) Noseworthy, Ann Noseworthy, Dick (Jean) Noel; and a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. and Thursday from 10 A.M. - 12 Noon. Funeral Service to take place at 2:30 P.M. on Thursday, January 25th, 2001 from St. Thomas' Anglican Church. Bert spent 40 years as a member of the Newfoundland Ranger Force, the RCMP and the Tourist and Labour Departments of the Newfoundland Government. The family wishes to thank the caring and devoted staff at the Miller Centre. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or the Leonard A. Miller Centre.
