Obituary

LaFOSSE, John "Jack" Matthew - (RCMP Superintendent, retired). Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, Jack LaFosse aged 94. Jack was born in New Harbour and raised in Belleoram, Fortune Bay, Nfld. He joined the Newfoundland Ranger Force in 1942 and remained with them as a Peace Officer until the force was absorbed by the RCMP in 1950. He remained with the RCMP until his retirement at the rank of Superintendent in 1977. Jack was an avid fly-fisherman and outdoorsman loving the marshes, streams and bays of his beloved Newfoundland. Predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Louise (nee Jacobs). He leaves to mourn his daughter Cheryl, son Darrell, daughter-in-law Sharon and two grandsons, Andrew and Matthew. He will also leave behind many friends and former colleagues. Cremation has taken place. Visitation and celebration of Jack's life will be held at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. on Friday, March 6, 2015 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00.
