Obituary
GREENE, Walter Martin - born March 15, 1921, passed away suddenly at his home on April 7, 2003 at the age of 82. Walter will be sadly missed by his wife, of 55 years, Mary, children Walter (Maureen), Charlie (Sheila), Garry (Deborah), Karen (Bill), Elizabeth (Bill), and Greg (Shanlea), 13 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, brother Harry (Joan), sisters Marie, Catherine (Art), Barbara, Anne (Hart) and many friends and relatives in B.C. and Newfoundland. Walter served in the Newfoundland Ranger Force until confederation and then the R.C.M.P for 35 years. Following retirement in 1973, Walter and his family moved to Ladner BC. Walter loved gardening, music, and family gatherings. He lived in B.C., but his heart was always in Newfoundland. His final wish was to have his ashes scattered overlooking his boyhood home, Cape Broyle. The entire family would like to thank the staff of Delta Hospital for the excellent care they gave Dad over the years. In lieu of flowers, Walter would have appreciated donations to the Delta Hospital Foundation. Prayers and visitation will be held on Sunday, April 13 at the Delta Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass with reception on Monday, April 14th at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Delta, BC.
